Diboll FFA Chapter Lone Star Degree Recipients Recognized by Board of Trustees
At Monday night's meeting, our Diboll ISD Board of Trustees recognized the hard work and dedication of our Diboll FFA Chapter Lone Star Degree recipients. This is the highest degree at the state level for an FFA member to earn.

Each recipient present shared their experience and how they achieved this level of degree. All were incredibly well-spoken and TRULY exemplified leadership.

Fun facts: Only 3% of Texas FFA members earn this level of achievement. In 2024 Texas FFA membership is reported at 177,401 (the state with the highest membership in the country).

Recipients from left to right are: Cruso Crager, Noah Johnson, Garen Dunlap, Sebastian Silva, Jaydn Burns, Hannah Jones
Over the last 3 years, these recipients have completed at least 360 hours of school instruction in Agriculture Science courses, maintained a Supervised Agricultural Experience (livestock projects, ag mechanics, career exploration, etc), demonstrated excellent leadership skills, and shown a true commitment to the FFA. They have completed activities above the Chapter level in leadership development events, career development events, conventions, meetings, project shows, and more. Most importantly, these students have led with a servant's heart and completed well above the 25 hours of community service required to earn this degree.

A thank you page was designed for Jan and Burlon Wilkerson. Both of them dedicated over half of their lives to our district as either a teacher, educational coach, PTSA member, or volunteer...over 40 years each of serving our community and schools.

A commemorative page was reserved for Mr. Gary Allen, a most beloved teacher, who served our student body as well as our community with a most generous heart. During his 12 years as a teacher (part of it as DISD), he touched and impacted so many lives.
