I was born in Winchester, Indiana, and over the years, I have lived in many different places, Richmond, IN., Colorado Springs, CO,, Cheyenne, WY,, and Palm Springs, CA,, and then I made it to Texas (Lufkin & Diboll)! I graduated from SFA in 2000 with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education K-8th grade with a Reading Specialization. I also have endorsements in ESL and Early Childhood. In May 2014, I graduated from Lamar University with my Master of Ed. School Counseling.
I came from a long line of educators. My mom and dad started out in education. My dad taught HS English for a few years until he went to work in a Trust Dept. of a Bank. My mom taught many grades from Pre-school up through JH and was a Teacher Trainer/Supervisor. My grandfather was a Principlal, my grandmother, my aunt & my cousun were eachers as well.
I taught Pre-K 4 for3 yrs.,1st grade for 3 yrs., 5th grade Math 1 yr, and 4th grade Math for 2 years. This is my 11th year as the School Counselor and my 14th year at H.G. Temple Intermediate and I love Diboll and our kiddos!
I have 2 daughters. My oldest daughter, Kristina teaches 7th grade Science at Hudson JH. Her husband Robert is a Math teacher at Hudson HS. They are parents to my amazing grandbabies, Olivia who is 6 years old and in 1st grade, and Dean who is 17 months old and in preschool.
My youngest daughter, Sarah was not interested in being a teacher, and that is perfectly fine! She works in Accounting at Angelina & Neches River Authority and loves her job.
